This weekend has been filled with friends and fun. Saturday was Joshua's second birthday! It's crazy to see how fast he's
grown over the past year, and how much he's developed; the first time I
met him, he wasn't even walking, and now the little ham has his own opinions on everything. Although, I'm not sure who enjoyed opening his presents more, him or his dad.
It was dinosaur-themed, and with three under-three's, a home filled with friends and family and a Marsden-twist on a traditional Afrikaans Braai, both adult and baby laughter filled the air all day. Seeing all the families come together and just be, it made me long for two things. For my own family, who live close by but we rarely see eachother due to timing clashes. For my future family; the family that Chris and I will start at some point.
I am beyond blessed to know the families that I do, they've spoken into my life so many times, and have pushed me to be the best wife I can be. I've been able to witness how to argue to God's glory, how different types of disicpline work and the struggles that mothers in particular go through. The women I have my life, especially those from my church, are teaching me grace, patience and love. Love for myself, my own body, my husband and my future children, should God grace me with any.
I am excited for the future, whatever it holds.
